You may have come across the word "Tita" in a different light nowadays. I consider myself one not only because I'm a Tita to Caleb and to the kids of my amigas, but mainly because I'm in this stage of life where I have somehow metamorphosed into a woman who'd define chillin' as a peaceful day at home - probably baking and sipping some tea. And going out would mean a trip to the grocery store for some shopping spree. Gone are the days when I'd hang out with friends in Mcdonald's to grab some cheeseburgers and fries and mindlessly consume a thousand calories in just one sitting. Or order the largest size of icecream everytime we would eat at a fast food chain. My throat just couldn't stand cold drinks or food anymore even the cold weather. Over time I think I've developed cold intolerance; hence the scarf I always have to carry in my bag. #TitaLife Just to share how a Tita would prefer to "hangout", I'd like to tell about my wonderful get-together with friends last November 16 and 17 in the boondocks. Truth be told, this is something my friends and I would NOT do on a weekly basis because #Staycation is pricey if done frequently. Hehe. This is a very special case because my dearest friend Abby who is currently based in Australia came home to the Philippines for a short vacay. And being a fellow Tita, we both agreed to book a hotel few months back so we can bond, catch up and reminisce about our college days which felt like some light years ago haha! Well actually, all our memories together remained vivid in our minds and hearts. We've all been to Tagaytay several times already on different occasions but what I've come to realize is that there's still so much more about this city. Being in charge of our itinerary taught me a lot of things: 1. That I no longer desire to do the usual outdoor activities (horseback riding, zipline, biking etc.) 2. Tagaytay is still a great city to visit and there's always something new to discover 3. There are countless newly opened restaurants around that you'll never have to worry about foods to try With these things mentioned, we kind of leaned toward the third one and focused on stuffing our faces with delectable dishes from some of the highly recommended restos via phonebooky. So yes, you guessed it right, we did a LOT of eating (and talking) like food critics who never really criticized any dish because everything was just super yummy. Now I can say, we have not just seen but also "tasted" Tagaytay. 1st on our list, Lime and Basil Restaurant for lunch. After lunch, we then headed to Taal Vista Hotel for check in and rested for a while. And of course, we couldn't miss to take a picturesque shot of the Taal Volcano. It just never gets old. Charito by Bag of Beans for dessert Walked around SkyRanch to convince ourselves that we have already burned some calories. Dinner at Buon Giorno in Twin Lakes. Because we wanted to make the most of this girl bonding time, we had make up sesh at the hotel room before calling it a day. And of course as self-proclaimed #TitasofTagaytay, we had white wine while making chika about life, love and lipstick. Titas just never run out of things to talk about. 2nd day - Rolled out of bed around 8am to prepare for our much awaited buffet breakfast at Veranda Resto. Last stop - Sonya's Garden (my new favorite!) I've been hearing a lot of good things about Sonya's Garden but wasn't really convinced until I tried their famous salad myself. It was SO GOOOOOD AND UNLIMITED! So that's how our 2-day gastronomical adventure went. More than the great selection of dishes we devoured, it's really the bond and meaningful time we had that I truly cherish the most. Praise God for the beautiful weather and safe journey. Grateful to have spent it with my fellow Titas - Abby and Mimay. =)

Welcome!
Nothing really fancy here, the lack of eloquence is very evident. Just sharing my thoughts - straight from the heart. Archives
