I'm back to the grind but here I am squeezing in some time to post about my wonderful experience at the Durian Capital of the Philippines (while everything is still fresh in my mind). It was the most amazing long weekend with the Chikkas last August 29-31. I'm just so grateful to have some time off from work with friends who share the same appetite for adventure. We've been planning about this trip for months and finally, we've reached the south! Until now I still can't believe that I've set foot on Mindanao ground. But of course, only on the safest part of the region which is Davao City. Mind you, it's actually one of the safest cities in the WORLD. #fact To maximize the very short time that we have, we intentionally booked an early flight at 0640H and reached Davao City at around 0930H. Funny how we all reacted as soon as we landed. Everyone was saying “amoy durian!” only to realize that there’s a giant durian outside the airport, haha! We had to immediately take some photos as we waited for our driver and van booked under ePhilippines. Few minutes later, we were then greeted with a warm welcome by Kuya Lito(driver) and proceeded with the countryside tour. Although we’re all feeling half asleep, it didn’t stop us from exploring and experiencing the city. We knew right then and there that it was time to make the most of this short vacay. Just so you know, I’m not a travel blogger nor a food blogger. So... I’m going to make this blog entry brief and simple since I don’t have the luxury of time to elaborate on all the details. Below are some snapshots of our trip taken by my dear Chikkas. Sorry that wasn't brief, haha! I wish I can post more photos but I'm afraid I'd run out of captions. Anyway, this will do for now. I believe that there's just so much stories to share behind the camera throughout this whole new travel experience. I'm very thankful to the Lord for making this trip possible and for allowing me to enjoy the wonders of this city. It's definitely another city to love! How I wish we stayed a little longer so we can experience more of Davao - sights to see, the fun and exciting activities, their delectable dishes, bountiful fresh produce, amazingly clean and orderly roads and streets, and of course, the discipline of the people. It's like a modern city merged with the quietness and simplicity of a province. Well, Davao has undoubtedly the best of both worlds! =)

Welcome!
Nothing really fancy here, the lack of eloquence is very evident. Just sharing my thoughts - straight from the heart. Archives
